Welcome to Worthington!
This lovely village was named after Thomas Worthington, one of the first two senators in Ohio. Incorporated in 1808, a brick building was erected facing the northeast quadrant of the public square. Today the bell tower is part of Kilbourne Middle School, named after another founding family. Worthington values its rich history, with 31 sites listed on the National Register of Historic Homes. Originally used in 1803 as a place for farmers to meet, the Village Green is still used today by the public for picnics, festivals, concerts, and a farmer’s market. Offering A status schools with a variety of education options, local residents are proud of their schools. Also located in Worthington is the Pontifical College Josephinum, the only pontifical seminary in the Western Hemisphere. From the historic sites and small museums, to the good schools, and the friendly, lively village community, Worthington is a great place to raise a family.
