Welcome to Powell!
Powell is a small city located just north of Columbus in Delaware County. Although it was first settled in 1857, it did not become a municipality until 1947. Powell is a scenic city between the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers. Its small town quaintness and close proximity to large cities make Powell a desired place to live. In fact, in July 2005, Money Magazine ranked it 18th of 100 best places to live in the US. Places of interest nearby include the Stratford Ecological Center, a 236 acre non-profit, educational, organic farm and nature preserve; The Olentangy Indian Caverns, a privately owned cave attraction offering tours and events; and The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, an internationally renowned zoo. Powell is a wonderful place to live and play!
